Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo (FOLRZ) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization established
in 1975 to encourage and aid the development of the Lee Richardson Zoo as an
educational and recreational center. All proceeds from gift shop sales, special events,
Adopt-An-Animal program, memorials, and other donations are used for
improvements to the zoo.
Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo appreciates your interest in our planned giving
opportunities. Please know that your planned gift can help build our endowment to
ensure a stable financial future for your zoo. You can also receive a number of tax
benefits such as a reduction in estate, gift and/or current income taxes.
Charitable Bequest
Wills, trusts and estate plans are all great ways to leave a planned gift. These gifts
demonstrate your support of the zoo and help the Lee Richardson Zoo continue to be
Southwest Kansas' most popular family attraction.
Gifts of Life Insurance
Name the Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo as beneficiary on your life insurance policy,
name Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo as the policy owner.
New Tax Law
A maximum of $100,000 a year can be donated
from regular IRAs or Roths. But, the IRA owner must be at least
70½ when the distribution is made, and the payouts cannot go to
either donor-advised funds or supporting private foundations.
The donation will not be taxable to the donor and will count
toward the required minimum distribution for the year. The
change applies to 2012 and 2013.

Engraved Bricks
Reserve your place in history for you and your family members today.
Purchase an
engraved brick with a name, a company name or even have a sentence engraved
across more than one.
Your contribution can make a "lasting impression" for
birthdays, wedding or anniversary gifts, holiday gifts or memories.
There are 2 lines per brick with 17 lettersper line.
The bricks are currently being installed inside the Wild Asia exhibit.

one brick is $30.00 or for a limited time, four
bricks for only $100.
